Semiotics Keynote Final Presentation & final thoughts
Learning about semiotics has been one of those obvious stepping stones that I've noticed pushing me into better design practices. I now understand why certain signs communicate better than others. When I get stuck in a project I think, now how can I change the connotation, or the anchor/relay factors to make this communicate what it was intended to. Learning about pragmatics has been difficult but I know that all of this is going to greatly influence my design in a positive way. I think I will be able to work more efficiently with my ideas and trying iterations of the same idea. It's difficult to fix a problem when you don't know why it's a problem. These exercises have really helped me understand the language of graphic design and why it's so important to get the right message across.
