I completely scrapped my other two ideas for qualitative. As much as I liked the imagery, I didn't feel either one of them really embodied this journey. So for the new qualitative, I chose a few elements (key words) that I wanted to highlight and stuck with those terms. My main focus was to capture the reflection that you see when viewing the scenery through the train windows. I included moments from each scenery inside of the composition. The words and imagery are slightly blurred to capture the constant motion of the train. This one still needs refinement, but I am really happy with how well I feel that it represents the trip from Chicago to San Fransisco.
I refined and cleaned up this version for my quantitative poster. Tried to work on it until there was nothing else I wanted to take away. This poster represents the elevations at each major stop (and also the tunnel in Colorado).
