Communication Model Process Update/readings

Rachael and I chose Emmert Donaghy's Communication model to create a 3d example of and explore visually. We made our sculpture out of wire and steel wool. The copper steel wool moves through point A to point B representing the feedback and information being communicated. We wanted it to sort of look like a dark matter moving through both spheres.

There is also a video to accompany this project. It is still in editing phase but here is a preview:

The summation of the Davis reading talked about communication in context, how culture influences content and context and how treatment and aesthetic can manipulate the message. Most of it I feel that we went over during discussions about our own models and how messages get interpreted and changed across the spectrum of communication. It'd be interesting to see a current model that includes the wide array of sources/communicators/and infinite regeneration of information.
