A lot of this was familiar terminology but in a way that maybe I hadn't thought of it before. It's interesting to see the development and history of visual communication, and recognize how far things have come. The way we treat messages is completely different as each generation phases in and out, and changes culturally as well. I thought it was interesting to think about ideology in terms of visual thinking and how we relay and perceive messages subjectively. I also found it curious that the reading spoke of "aesthetics" in regards to subjective style in graphic design as a misnomer. And thinking about models as icons and how they influence our perception and how often they change makes me exhausted. Graphic design is such a complicated field and there is never a period of homeostasis. Everything is always changing and it's our job to keep up with that.
